Kirby: Triple Deluxe has to be one of the best games that I have ever played on my Nintendo 3DS. From the stunning 3D visuals to the amazing new gamemodes, Kirby Fighters and Dedede’s Drum Dash, this entry in the Kirby franchise is definitely not one to miss. Everything about the game impresses, and it is one of the best platforming games I have played in recent years!
In Kirby’s Triple Deluxe, there are a wide range of powers that Kirby can acquire. Kirby can suck up different enemies, and obtain powers, like the ability to wield a sword, or a lightning whip. The biggest addition in this entry is Kirby’s Hypernova mode, where instead of just sucking up little enemies, Kirby is given the ability to uproot trees and absorb pretty much anything in his path.
Another great feature in this game is the all-new Kirby Fighters gamemode, which is very similar to Super Smash Bros, and that is not a bad thing at all. At the beginning of the arcade ladder, you select what power you want to use throughout the battles. You battle your way through a number of opponents, and then fight an evil version of the character that you have selected. The courses all look great, and the 3D is downright stunning in this game.
The other great mode is Dedede’s Drum Dash, in which you play as King Dedede, bouncing across drums and keeping the rhythm of the song that is playing, somewhat similar to 2013’s Bit.Trip Presents… Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien. Dedede’s Drum Dash consists of 3 levels, and a bonus level that can be unlocked by getting a Gold medal on the other levels.
Kirby’s Triple Deluxe is a great game, and gives Kirby the debut he deserves onto the Nintendo 3DS. This is one of the best gaming experiences out there, and definitely worth picking up.
