Assassin’s Creed Unity Review

Assassin's Creed Unity

Ubisoft’s new-gen exclusive Assassin’s Creed Unity tells the tale of Arno, an assassin during the time period of the French Revolution. The game’s story is fantastic, the stealth mechanics are improved, and the combat feels as fluid as ever. Assassin’s Creed Unity is a solid addition to the franchise.

Assassin's Creed Unity

Unity’s open world is incredible. The free-running feels very natural, and some of the interiors of buildings can be explored. Ubisoft has successfully created an amazing France setting for a spectacularAssassin’s Creed game. Everything looks very nice, and I was very impressed with the game’s visuals. The big problem, though, came about when I was exploring the streets of Paris. The streets and civilians are extremely detailed and there are mass crowd gatherings that truly bring the city to life. The problem is that the game would drop significantly in framerate whenever I would enter the street setting. Aside from that, I had a great time exploring the open world that was available for exploring in this year’s title.

Assassin's Creed Unity

Assassin’s Creed Unity features a new system for assassinations. The system has been reworked, and the ways Arno can approach the target are more open-ended than the previous entries. Unity adds a lot of new elements to the Assassin’s Creed that fans know and love The game’s new co-op missions are also a nice addition to the series. In the co-op missions, Arno can team up with three other assassins and try to take out a specific target. Unity’s co-op is definitely one of the highest points in Ubisoft’s series this year.

Assassin's Creed Unity

Unity is a solid entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but it is not the best game. It adds some great new gameplay elements to the franchise, but it suffers from low performance issues along with glitches and microtransactions. A number of players have encountered glitches such as falling through the ground. When Ubisoft irons out the bugs in Assassin’s Creed Unity, it will be the definitive new-gen Assassin’s Creed game.

Assassin;s Creed Unity

Ubisoft used all of the power of new-gen systems with Assassin’s Creed Unity, and this shows through in the incredible detail put into the city of Paris. Assassin’s Creed Unity is a downright epic adventure and one that should most certainly not be missed on new-gen hardware. Assassin’s Creed Unity is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
