December 2014 Loot Crate Review

Loot Crate is an awesome subscription-based program that partners with a wide variety of great brands every month to your doorstep! Each month, there is a specific theme for the crate. The theme for November’s crate is “Anniversary,” and all of the items contained in the Loot Crate pertain to this theme.

The December Loot Crate celebrates a number of different anniversaries including Batman, Marvel, Ghostbusters, Tetris, and The Simpsons! This month’s exclusive items come from licenses such as Ghostbusters, Batman, Funko, and Marvel. This month’s crate was amazing, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!  You can view all the pictures from the December Loot Crate below. Make sure you check back next month on NextGenerationGamer for our coverage of the January Loot Crate!

November 2014 Loot Crate Review

Loot Crate is an awesome subscription-based program that partners with a wide variety of great brands every month to your doorstep! Each month, there is a specific theme for the crate. The theme for November’s crate is “Battle,” and all of the items contained in the Loot Crate pertain to this theme.

The Battle Crate is one of the best crates that I have seen. The most impressive thing about this crate is that box itself transforms into an arena in which two iconic video game characters can duke it out. This month’s Loot Crate includes exclusive Mega Man, Street Fighter, and Assassin’s Creed items. You can view pictures from the November Loot Crate below. Build Your Own Minimate at NYCC!

At New York Comic Con 2014, I had the chance to build and customize my own personal Diamond Select Toys Minimate figure at their booth. The level of detail in the Minimates was extremely evident here. I really got an insight into how detailed these toys can be, and how many different combinations there are. First off, I got to select a head. I then chose a torso for my character, along with a set of legs, feet, and any additional accessories that I saw necessary. Building my own custom Minimate was one of the high points of this year’s convention. There were many items to choose from for my character, and a wide variety of different heads, bodies, and accessories. Below are some pictures from the Build-a-Minimate event at New York Comic-Con!

The characters will interact with the Wii U gamepad directly, and transfer data back and forth between the system and the figure. “Amiibo” figures will be available this holiday season.
